Catch the TranzAlpine train from Darfield
You can catch the world-famous TranzAlpine train to Greymouth from Darfield Railway Station.
Located in southwest Christchurch, Rolleston Station is the southernmost stop on the TranzAlpine train journey. For those travelling from south Canterbury and beyond, Darfield offers an easier option with plenty of parking (unsecured).
Please book in advance to ensure the TranzAlpine train stops at Darfield Railway Station.
TranzAlpine Check In
- Arrive at Station 20 minutes early
- Wait near the centre of the platform for the train to arrive
- A crew member will greet you on the platform once the train has arrived to check you in and provide you with your Boarding Pass and Luggage Labels.
- All wheeled bags, large backpacks, and suitcases will need to be taken to the Luggage Carriage.
