Picton passenger terminal
The Picton terminal currently operates between 8.00am and 8.00pm Monday to Saturday, and between 8am and 11.00pm Sunday. Operating hours may vary to accommodate changes in our passenger sailing schedule.

The Picton Terminal is clearly visible from the Picton foreshore. The terminal can be reached via a pleasant walk around the harbour. Picton is serviced by bus and plane from across the South Island. There is a drop-off area and free short-term car park outside the terminal.
The Coastal Pacific train that departs just 10 minutes from the terminal is currently out of service.

There is step free access to the terminal and passengers can be dropped of immediately outside the terminal building.
Passengers with severely restricted mobility or disability should notify Interislander of their assistance requirement at least 48 hours prior to boarding or call the terminal sales counter to make your booking and advise them of your needs at the point of booking. If you suffer from severe immobility or disability (i.e. you can't be assisted by crew and/or carers) then it is possible that we will not be able to take you aboard. We have an obligation to keep all passengers and crew safe and if you can't be safely assisted to the lifeboats without causing undue risk to crew or fellow passengers then you will not be allowed to sail. Please call us to discuss the available options if you think you would need assistance to access the lifeboats in the unlikely event of an evacuation.
Lifts and Ramps
There is a cafe for foot passengers on the upper floor at the Picton Terminal that services the key passenger sailings daily. The cafe offers great Espresso coffee, hot and cold non-alcoholic beverages and a range of treats.
A coffee cart operates from the picnic area adjacent to the vehicle check in lanes and services the key passenger sailings daily. They offer a quality locally roasted coffee and a range of teas, hot beverages and biscuits.
We recommend passengers seeking a more substantial meal should explore the range of quality food and beverage services available on-board our vessels.

Bus Connection in Vicinity
Long distance buses operate services to Nelson, Kaikoura, Christchurch and beyond that connect with Interislander key passenger sailings daily. Buses depart from the terminal car park or Picton i-SITE.
Bus tickets can be purchased in advance from Picton i-SITE , the bus driver (cash only), online or by phone. There are currently no onward bus services after 6pm.
We strongly recommend tickets for onward travel are purchased prior to sailing.
Coin operated storage lockers are available inside the Picton terminal at a cost of $2 for 6 hours.
Covered Waiting Area
A wide range of rental car company offices are located directly outside the terminal.
