The Picton passenger terminal is for passengers travelling without a motor-vehicle.

Important information

  • Coastal Pacific train station is a five minute walk directly south of the terminal on Auckland Street.
  • Long-term parking is available on Auckland Street near the train station (click here to view on Google maps).
  • Short-term parking (max 30mins) is available outside the terminal.

Picton terminal has ramp and lift access to all areas and we have mobility carts to help passengers with boarding via the ramps. Picton terminal also has accessible toilets and accessible parking spaces right outside the terminal.

Passengers with severely restricted mobility should notify Interislander of their assistance requirement at least 48 hours prior to boarding. Alternatively, make your booking over the phone and notify us of your requirements at the same time. We need to ensure that we have staff on hand to help transport you safely.

Long-term Pay & Display parking is available on Auckland street. The bays are located between the train station and the Interislander vehicle check-in and cost around $6 per day. Click here for directions.

Long distance buses operate services to Nelson, Kaikoura, Christchurch and beyond that connect with Interislander key passenger sailings daily. Buses depart from the terminal car park or Picton i-SITE.
