Lounges & seating areas
Sit back and enjoy the journey in one of our scenic seating areas:
The Lookout Lounge is located upstairs at the front of Deck 8. As the name suggests, it gets some pretty spectacular views looking out across the sea. To make it extra special, we've added some comfy recliners. So sit back and enjoy!
Outdoor viewing decks
The Interislander journey through the Marlborough Sounds is simply gorgeous. On an overcast day, the hills are a picture of dramatic beauty. On a sunny day, there are few better views on earth. So pop outside on Deck 8, grab a seat and enjoy the journey!
Stay entertained for the journey with our onboard entertainment:
Choose your own film and enjoy a movie theatre all to yourself. Our Personal Cinema headsets are the perfect way to enjoy an uninterrupted cinematic journey.
Children's TV/Play Area
Everyone needs a bit of down time. For this reason, we have a Children's TV lounge for young ones that is dedicated to the Disney channel. Plus, there's a blackboard for a bit of on board creativity and tables and chairs for playing games. The lounge is located on Deck 8 next to the Lookout Lounge.
You'll find Sky TV playing live sport and top TV shows in the Local Heroes bar on Deck 7. So don't worry about missing the big game. Just grab a seat and a beer and settle down for the journey!
Stay connected on board with our free Wi-Fi. The service includes a 100MB limit per person. While the connection quality is good for most of the journey, there is the occasional 'black spot' and the signal can be interrupted by weather and sea conditions.
Speeds will vary depending on the number of users and can be very slow during busy sailings.
We recommend that you pre-load games, films or TV shows before coming on-board.
Whether you need a nice warm jacket, a cool new t-shirt, an authentic pounamu or some entertainment for the kids, you will find it all in our mini emporium on Deck 7. We also have a range of Interislander souvenirs and memorabilia.
If you are sailing with little-ones who need their nap-time, then you will a nursery room with two cots, changing facilities and a wash basin on board Kaiarahi. The nursery is located next to the Children's TV lounge on Deck 8 and is free to use, subject to availability.
Kaiarahi has been assessed with a Silver Accessibility rating by Be. accessible (full details can be found on the Be. accessible website), however the restricted lift access means that we would prefer passengers with restricted mobility to use Kaitaki and Aratere.
